Speak

"Art without emotion is like chocolate cake without sugar. It makes you gag. The next time you work on your trees, don't think about trees. Think about love, or hate, or joy, or pain- whatever makes you feel something, makes your palms sweat, or your toes curl. Focus on that feeling. When people don't express themselves, they die on piece at a time." -Speak

Fear.

I hate starting anything that I know is going to be permanent, and color pencils don't come with erasers. We drew our color pencil apples on sheets of paper we had dyed in the beginning of school year and the one I chose happened to be one of my favoites. I was fine drawing apples on replacable paper with pencil I could easily erase, which I did quite frequently. I knew as soon as I marked my pretty paper with the red of the apple there was no changing my mind. The fact that I had never used color pencil for this type of drawing before also made me nervous. My studies we did on the apples weren't that great, and I honestly had no idea what I was doing when I started drawing. But once I started drawing I started getting more comfortable and started to better understand how to create value with so many different colors. Over all I like the way my apple came out. I'm not overly thrilled with it but its's honestly better than I thought it was going to be.
